Milton Parochial Primary School celebrates 'good' rating from Ofsted

Milton Parochial Primary School is celebrating an outstanding Ofsted inspection in July. The school has achieved a glowing rating of 'good' across all areas, bringing joy to children, staff, and parents alike.

Parents, staff, and pupils were particularly pleased with the report's emphasis on the school's dedication to personal development, noting it is "at the heart of the school’s work." They also appreciated the recognition of the staff's collaboration in creating a caring environment.

Children expressed gratitude to Ofsted, highlighting how they have "improved phenomenally" and expressing appreciation for the kindness and support of their teachers.

The report also commended the school's ambitious curriculum, delivered by skilled teachers who ensure all pupils, including those with SEND, have equal access to learning opportunities and achieve well.

Key highlights from the report include:

  • Early Years provision that thoroughly prepares children for Key Stage 1.
  • A strong emphasis on reading, which pupils described as transporting them to new worlds.
  • Enthusiastic teaching of mathematics to build secure understanding.
  • Positive behaviour in classrooms and social settings, fostering strong friendships among children.

Rebecca Osborne, Executive Head Teacher, expressed her delight: "We are extremely pleased that this report recognises the ethos and character of our school. At Milton Parochial, we pride ourselves on fostering a strong community where staff and children build positive relationships, and where personal and social development is as important as academic excellence. This report truly reflects our school's values."

Gary Skilton, Chair of Governors, added: "I am very proud of Rebecca and her staff at Milton School. Being a small village school, every staff member knows every child, creating an inclusive, family-like learning environment where children thrive. At Milton, we focus on developing the whole child."

Congratulations to Milton Parochial Primary School on their well-deserved recognition!
