St Mary’s pupils cheer on the Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge

The pupils at St Mary’s CE Academy were able to show their support as the Children in Need Rickshaw rode through Burton Latimer. The children took to the streets to wave their flags and cheer on the team.
In the words of one of the pupils “After lunch we lined up and walked out on to the High Street….Finally we saw them cycling down Burton Latimer High Street. I screamed so loud I nearly broke my voice. They were on bright yellow bikes and were smiling all the way”.
Welcoming our NQT Class of 2019

On 3rd October we welcomed all our Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT’s) to kick start their first year of teaching.
This year 21 NQT’s have joined one of our academies and they were given the opportunity to meet each other and members of the central team to understand what it means to be part of our multi academy trust.
During their first year our NQT’s will receive a bespoke training programme developed to help them navigate through what can often be a challenging first year.
The next session takes place in November and will cover Reading and Creating a Vocabulary Rich Environment.
Wishing all our NQT’s a great first year being part of the PDET family.
